Eliza
MLC Swimwear’s CEO, Marta Eliza, began her fashion journey as a young student in her hometown, crafting costumes for her classmates using limited sustainable materials for school shows. Despite her parents; hopes for her to pursue a career in law, Marta’s passion for fashion and art prevailed. A devoted environmentalist, Marta is committed to saving our planet and incorporates sustainable materials into all her creations.
Marta's love for the ocean and animals is evident in her commitment to sustainability. She incorporates 3D materials into her art and fashion, pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity. Her designs debuted at the DC Climate Change Conference, where she showcased her vision of uniting art and fashion in a harmonious dialogue and she launched her first collection during NYSW in July 2023.
At MLC Swimwear, we believe that art and fashion are not separate domains but complementary expressions of human creativity and identity. Our mission is to showcase on the runway how art and fashion can inspire, challenge, and transform each other through a profound dialogue. We aim to celebrate the union and beauty of both when displayed together, as we believe one is incomplete without the other. Art and fashion are like lovers, embraced in intimate, passionate intercourse, speaking in unison the language of love and desire. They complete each other!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Marta's creative drive led her to produce art, culminating in her first fashion show at the DC Climate Change Conference. Through her designs, she strives to unite art and fashion, showcasing their inseparable bond.
Marta's artistic inclinations were nurtured from a young age, inspired by her grandfather, who organized art contests in Europe, and her grandmother, who was a painter. Her lifelong engagement with art has significantly influenced her approach to fashion, making MLC Swimwear a brand that embodies the harmonious blend of artistic expression and sustainable
fashion.
